What a release for Google. Hardware, software, ecosystem and most importantly price!
Nexus 4 the new addition to the Google Nexus lineup made by LG. 4.7″ screen with a 1280 x 768 pixel resolution (320 ppi), 8MP camera, quad core Qualcomm with all the usual connectivity sensors as well as wireless charging. From the reviews its better built than the Galaxy Nexus and it’s sold unlocked at $399AUD for a 16GB also available for $349AUD for the 8GB model. The price is unbelievable, most phones these days in this class would cost almost double!
The only negative I see on it are that it lacks LTE but for most this wont be an issue as it’s not available in most of the world.
Nexus 7 made by Asus has gotten an upgrade in the storage area to a 32GB model for $299AUD as well as a 3G option.
Nexus 10 a standout new Google tablet made by Samsung, 10.055″ diagonal at 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution for 300 ppi which the highest resolution tablet available in the market including the iPad. Also thinner than the iPad as well as lighter. This thing has the iPad beat! The price is unbelievable too $469AUD for the 16GB and $569AUD for the 32GB version a steal!
Along with these new devices Google is releasing a new version from Jelly Bean with features such as multi user accounts on the tablet, lock screen widgets, quick swipe settings from notification bar and a new swipe gesture keyboard.
I’m thinking very hard about getting the Nexus 4 and 10 myself but I’m worried that within a few months Google will release the LTE version which I would very much prefer. If anybody is looking for a tablet or phone I would definitely recommend the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 without question! Hopefully this new tablet push will kick developers to bring more tablets to Android too!
